Appearance: Lysander stands at a reasonable height of five foot six, and sports a slender form at a hundred and twenty-three pounds. Upon his head, hidden by his auburn mohawk, is a Charmeleon horn coming from the back. His mohawk trails into a little ponytail. He has sharp brown eyes that occasionally may hold a hint of red, and he has two sharp canines that protrude slightly over his lower lip. Also due to his pokémon side, his fingernails are slightly longer than would be expected, and he has a tail that has a flame at the end and that he can shrink slightly in size due to the intense training he received at the labs. Because of the flame, he never wears long tops, instead wearing a short sleeveless demin jacket, open, that comes to above his bellybutton. Ripped dark skinny jeans are his favourites, along with just trainers. A black choker is worn, and he wears two rings on his right ring finger.
Background: Lysander is the son of a researcher and a scientist, both of whom worked for Team Obsidian. His father, Gabriel O’Brian researched pokémon myths and legends with his main focus being on the legendary dogs. It was while working for Team Obsidian that Lysander’s father met his mother Dr. Faith Morrison, who worked for the organisation as a lead scientist in one of the latest plans; changing humans into Pokémon. The experiments had started on humans, then moved to younger and younger children before it was decided that mutating DNA of embryos was the next step. As a full believer in Team Obsidian’s work, Dr. Faith had no second thoughts about offering her unborn child as a test subject, even before her husband knew he was to be a father. It was in this way that Lysander’s life of being different was decided for him and out of his control.
During her pregnancy with Lysander, Dr. Faith started to struggle with her work, becoming weaker and ill while her husband was often away doing research and became more distant. She never had the chance to see her son’s face, losing conscience during the caesarean, never to awaken. Gabriel returned home from his first and only encounter with Suicune five days before his wife’s due date to find himself a widower and already a father.
Lysander grew up in the best conditions that his father could provide, a room the two of them, until Gabriel O’Brian one day never returned to their room and Lysander, aged eight, watched as the box containg his father became smaller. He was placed in living spaces that other gem pokémorphs had, but the change was too sudden on him. At the age of seventeen, tired of being ordered around and the new power of Charmeleon inside him angry and frustrated, the pokémorph organised and then a led a break out of the Obsidian labs, allowing hundreds to escape if they so chose. Not being able to keep under cover for too long, Lysander headed for the Ebony labs to register as a trainer.
Personality: As a consequence of the difficult life Lysander led being trained as a pokémorph by Team Obsidian and being hated by other pokémorphs, the young Charmander pokémorph developed a multiple-personality disorder to protect himself mentally. Each gives a different name and requires different comforts. One such is violent, arrogant and short-tempered, yet surprisingly over-protective and loyal of/to those he considers as friends. In this ‘mood’ Lysander is likely to snap at anyone who even slightly irritates or annoys him. In a more friendly ‘mood’, Lysander is friendly, open and slightly flirty while keeping himself at a safe emotional distance. In such a state, he is difficult to annoy and keeps persevering, often to the annoyance of others. When under emotional stress related to childhood trauma, however, Lysander becomes vulnerable, quiet and shy like a child, unsure of his abilities and what to do. He is prone to crying or fleeing when in this ‘mood’. The Charmeleon pokémorph swaps between these personalities quickly and without warning.
